What IS your Endocannabinoid system, anyway?

Think of your Endocannabinoid system like a switchboard that makes sure your body’s other systems are working properly. It does this via cell-signaling molecules called cannabinoids, which match up to special structures called cannabinoid receptors. When cannabinoids attach to their receptors, your endocannabinoid system is telling your body how to regulate healthy sleep patterns, metabolism and more.

What Is Endocannabinoid System Booster?

Endocannabinoid System Booster combines a specialized fatty acid with a standardized red clover extract and a cannabinoid mimetic blend of rosemary, clove, and black pepper extracts. Together, these ingredients help boost the ECS by working to promote the healthy activity and balance of endocannabinoid compounds, endocannabinoid receptors, and the enzymes that control how your endocannabinoid system works.

Benefits at a Glance:

  • Promotes harmony between your biological systems
  • Supports whole-body comfort and neurological health
  • Soothes mood and promotes restful sleep patterns
  • Helps regulate metabolism, appetite, and food intake
  • Does not contain CBD, hemp, or THC ingredients

Your endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex cell-signaling network that relies on endogenous cannabinoids: signaling molecules that your body makes naturally. The relationship between these endocannabinoids and their specialized cellular receptors is shape-specific—like puzzle pieces.

If your body doesn’t have enough of a particular endocannabinoid, your ECS simply won’t do its job as well—and what’s worse, ECS activity is believed to decline with age.1

But we can help maintain healthy endocannabinoid system function with nutrients that help boost the activity of naturally occurring endocannabinoids in your body, as well as cannabimimetics—nutrients that have similar molecular structures to those naturally occurring endocannabinoids. That is exactly why we created Endocannabinoid System Booster.

Oleoylethanolamide (OEA)

Oleoylethanolamide (or OEA for short) is a bioactive fatty acid. OEA has a similar structure to an endocannabinoid compound called anandamide. In preclinical research, OEA has been shown to play a role in maintaining energy balance and neuronal protection.2,3

GPR119 is a receptor in your gastrointestinal tract that is distantly related to cannabinoid receptors.4 OEA interacts with GPR119 the same way anandamide interacts with its receptor.

Biochanin A

The next step to promoting healthy ECS activity is to inhibit the breakdown and reabsorption of endocannabinoids by your body. That’s why we’ve included a red clover extract standardized to a special isoflavone compound called biochanin A.

In a preclinical study, biochanin A was shown to significantly inhibit fatty acid amide hydrolase, or FAAH, an enzyme that breaks down anandamide.5 By inhibiting the breakdown of anandamide, biochanin A helps encourage youthful circulating levels of this health-promoting endocannabinoid.

Biochanin A has important health-supporting properties of its own, promoting a healthy inflammatory response, supporting cellular health, and acting as a neuroprotectant.6,7

Cannabimimetic Blend

Lastly, Endocannabinoid System Booster contains a blend of rosemary, clove and black pepper extracts. We chose this combination because they all contain beta-caryophyllene, a compound known to activate CB2, one of the primary receptors in your endocannabinoid system.8

CB2 receptors are located throughout your body, including your brain, and play a role in nerve comfort as well as encouraging healthy inflammation response in your nervous system.9

Black pepper also contains guineensine, a compound that inhibits the reuptake of the endocannabinoid anandamide.10

Comprehensive ECS Support

By targeting endocannabinoid receptors throughout your body, inhibiting the enzymes that break down and reabsorb naturally occurring endocannabinoids, and encouraging youthful circulating levels of those same cell-signaling compounds, this formula is a great way to support youthful endocannabinoid system function.
