This formulation combines vitamins B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxal 5’-phosphate), B12 (as methylcobalamin) and folate as L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF).

Folate (L-5-MTHF)

Folate helps maintain homocysteine levels within the normal range, which promotes cardiovascular health.1,7,8 Folate supports neurotransmitter synthesis as well, which is an essential part of cognitive health.9 People with healthy homocysteine levels have a greater chance of maintaining healthy cognitive function.10,11

But not everyone’s body can utilize traditional folate supplements. Research shows that a large part of the population cannot convert folate to its bioactive 5-MTHF form (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate), leaving many vulnerable to low blood folate levels (and higher-than-desired homocysteine).12 So Homocysteine Resist delivers 8500 mcg of 5-MTHF in each capsule.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate)

Vitamin B6 also facilitates neurotransmitter synthesis, as well as amino acid and lipid metabolism.9 Traditional forms of B6 must be converted to pyridoxal 5'-phosphate before your body can use it, but Homocysteine Resist contains 100 mg of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate that’s ready to work right from the start.9

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin)

The body naturally converts vitamin B2 (riboflavin) to its riboflavin-5'-phosphate form, which it then uses for energy production.13 Vitamin B12 supports nerve cell growth and heart health by helping to maintain healthy homocysteine levels already within normal range.14,15 And methylcobalamin is the form of B12 biologically active in your brain.16
